The Book of Common Prayer, " An Outline of the Faith"
Ministry is what God's people do to live out their faith. At Hope, we believe everyone has gifts and abilities to offer. See a ministry or activity you are curious about? We would love to have you get involved. Have an idea for a new ministry? Let's talk!
Hope Episcopal Church enjoys a thriving music program that often includes multiple musicians along with our choir. If you sing or play an instrument, we'd love for you to participate! All are welcome! Our choir currently meets on Wednesday evenings a 6:00 p.m. for rehearsal, and warms up before the service at 8:30 a.m. on Sundays.
In addition, we offer opportunities for vocal and instrumental soloists.
Contact our choirmaster, Bobbi Reese, for more information.
These dedicated individuals help to create the lovely atmosphere of worship by attending to the preparation of the worship space. Their attention to a rich visual and aesthetically pleasing experience is seen in the faces of our worshipers. We are grateful to all who assist in this vital ministry . There are many ways in which can contribute each Sunday including lay readers, chalice bearers, ushers, greeters, Eucharist bread bakers.
The younger members of our congregation are encouraged to participate in our services as acolytes, who assist in the service of the table; crucifers and book bearers.
Shepherd Farm is a small, prolific garden that generates 2,000-3,000 pounds of vegetables & fruits each growing season. An all-volunteer team plants, harvests and delivers this organically grown produce to our Partners…six pantries and community organizations that serve people who experience food insecurity. It’s a ‘loaves & fishes’ dynamic. We give raw vegetables. Our resourceful recipients transform them into healthy meals and sides for children, families and neighbors.
Willing to dig in good dirt to make a difference?
Shepherd Farm needs Once-in-Awhile Volunteers, people willing to spend an hour from time to time to weed, plant, water or harvest. Each week, starting mid-April to October, we will announce the schedule of Volunteer Activity for the following week via email.
St. Luke’s is a Christian preschool dedicated to providing a positive first school experience for our young children. We believe in small classes where the children can get to know their teacher and peers while developing at their own pace. Children need concrete experiences to learn and grow. All projects are done by the children using a wide variety of materials. We provide opportunities for the children to learn necessary skills through games, songs, stories, and hands on projects.
Above all else, our goal is to provide experiences for children to develop positive self esteem. Children are treated with compassion and respect in all situations. Support for the family is given in a sense of Christian unity.
Come visit our Labyrinth for quiet reflection and meditation. For centuries, a labyrinth has been a path towards spiritual transformation through contemplation and prayer.
Weather permitting, we gather for Wednesday evening walks. Come join us!
The Peace Meal is a free weekly meal hosted by St. John’s, Tower Grove that takes place every Saturday (no matter what) between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Hope church participates often through donations of produce from our garden, and then several times a year our congregation staffs the Peace Meal, prepping, cooking, and serving the meal to whomever comes from the community.
