What Is Holy Week?

No week is more important to a Christian than Holy Week. It is a time for reflection and worship, as we reenact the final days of Christ's life and rehearse the promises of Christ's resurrection

Holy week includes several significant liturgical services, beginning with Palm Sunday and processes into the Triduum (Trih-due-uhm) - Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday - and culminating in Easter Sunday.

What is the Triduum?

Maundy Thursday: The night that we remember the Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples before being arrested later that evening. We trace the practice of Communion with bread and wine to the Last Supper.
Good Friday: This is the day Jesus suffered and died on a cross. It is only good in that Christ's death, everything for our salvation, was accomplished.
Holy Saturday: Jesus descended to the dead and released every captive before being raised to life.
